I am going to the University of North Carolina Wilmington to complete the final Semester of my Business degree. I am fortunate enough to have parents who prioritised travelling growing up, so am no stranger to the airport. However, no matter how many times you go overseas, the excitement mixed with nervous thoughts always kicks in when the time approaches!
I chose to take advantage of this amazing opportunity that Waikato University offers because I get restless staying in one place with no adventure on the horizon. The thought of being able to immerse myself in another culture’s University experience excites me and is a great chance for me to go outside of my comfort zone.
Choosing a University to study abroad involved sending a lot of emails to ensure it would be the right fit, and I’m not gonna lie, UNCW was just really good at replying. However, when researching the area more I realised it was the perfect destination. It is close to the ocean so will hopefully ease the homesickness that I’m bound to feel at times. It is also located close to states that I hope to be able to visit after completing their Fall semester.
