I’ve now been in Arizona for 2 and a half weeks. I was excited to get here, but also quite nervous to leave home. I haven’t had to deal with homesickness as I have been really busy settling in and making new friends. The first few weeks have been great, except for the heat. Most days are anywhere between 41 and 46 degrees at the moment, but all the locals say it will cool down from late September.

The time zones are relatively close so jet lag wasn’t a real issue. We are 5 hours ahead of NZ, but a day behind so that makes it easy to communicate with people back home. Classes have started and the professors here are great. I’m looking forward to my courses and learning here in America!
