After settling into uni here at ASU, I can now share what a normal day in the life looks like!
It is quite different, but also quite similar to life at Waikato. I chose to live off campus in a house with a few Americans. That means I have to commute to campus on the days I have classes. Fortunately, there is a free bus route that passes right outside my house and drops me off on campus.
I was able to plan my schedule so that I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursday, with one class on a Wednesday evening. This gives me 4 days every weekend which makes it easier to travel and explore new places which is beneficial whilst on exchange!

So on a Tuesday or Thursday, my day starts relatively early as I have a 7:30am class. I get up, eat breakfast at home and then try and get on the bus just before 7. This gets me to campus at about 7:20 and allows me enough time to get to class. I then spend most of the day on campus in class, but when I have a break between classes I head to the library to get ahead on a few of my weekly assignments.
Most nights there are social sports which are always fun to join. The gym at ASU is massive as well and has everything you’ll ever need. I then head home after this on the bus and cook/head to bed! My days when I don’t have class vary significantly. So far, I have travelled to Chicago and Seattle on 2 of my weekends. These trips were great and opened my eyes to how different the US can be in different states.
