Hi! My name is Yolanda, I’m currently a student at The University of Cardiff. I have been having a great time so far this semester and am looking forward to continuing for the rest of it! Whilst here I have some time to explore and get to know Cardiff, it’s a very big city so I don’t think that I would be able to see all of it even if I were here for much longer than I have been.

I am super interested in History and that was a major reason for me picking Cardiff in the first place. Cardiff is a very old city and is rich in culture. I have tried my best to go to places I wouldn’t normally get to in New Zealand. For example, Cardiff has a castle and it has been quite a wonderful experience wandering through the city centre and there just being a castle in the middle of it. There are wonderful deals for students all over the UK and getting into places like Cardiff Castle for cheap is one of those.

There are also Cathedrals and Roman ruins all over Cardiff. My favourite is Llandaff Cathedral which is about a half hour walk from the main University Campus. Not only is it gorgeous but some events happen there that are also wonderful experiences. For example, last weekend there was a silent disco held inside the Cathedral. It was so popular I missed out on getting a ticket so it is super important to keep an eye out on Facebook or Instagram pages that post about events happening in your city or else you might miss out on something amazing like that.
