Drinking Culture
The drinking culture has definitely come as a shock. Everyone knows that the English drink a lot more but I wasn’t expecting this big of a shock! In Lancaster, the nightclubs are open 6 days a week, with a university student-only club too! The university definitely doesn’t discourage drinking; last Monday the university organised a bar crawl – there are 9 bars on campus! Everyone here tends to go out around 3-4 times a week which can be annoying as my flatmates are always coming home super late making it harder to sleep. If you love a good night out Lancaster is the place for you
The Weather
While the drinking is steady the weather is definitely not from snow to massive storms to sunny days we really get the whole mixture here! I’ve definitely learnt to over-dress with layers and always always always have a raincoat with me (it’s far too windy for an umbrella!). The days can go from warmer weather to the bitter cold in a matter of minutes it’s definitely taking some adjusting, but I think I’ve got it down now thankfully!
