My name is Witty! I am currently in my third and final year of studying marketing and interface design. I chose to go on exchange because I wanted to travel and experience other cultures. For my exchange, I am going to Jonkoping, which is a small city about 2 hours away from Gothenburg in Sweden. When choosing my exchange, I knew I wanted to go to Europe, and I chose Sweden because I love Scandinavian culture. Some other factors that helped me choose Jonkoping were that they offer guaranteed accommodation for exchange students, so it was one less thing I had to worry about (yay) and also because while Scandinavian culture is so rich, they also still speak a lot of English so I wouldn’t have to navigate a language barrier. I also found that the papers offered at Jonkoping were the closest alternatives to my papers at Waikato.
My family is from Cambodia, so I have been fortunate to have experienced a lot of Asian cultures and visited a lot of Southeast Asia already. When given the opportunity to go on exchange, I wanted to see what Europe was like as I haven’t been, and because I kept seeing everybody’s Euro Summer posts last year (lol). I am most excited to have the opportunity to travel to different countries within Europe, try the different Swedish candies I have been seeing all over my Tiktok, and experience what European university life is like!
