Studying Law in Belgium

By Caitlin Pringle

Kia ora! My name is Caitlin Pringle, a fourth year Bachelor of Laws student at the University of Waikato. I’ll be finishing the last Trimester of my degree at Ghent University in Belgium.

The reason I chose Ghent University as my host institution abroad is because my law papers transfer really well between the two Universities, and I’ll be extremely close to the country I was born, the Netherlands. I’m really excited to not only explore all that Europe has to offer from the central location that is Belgium, but also reconnect with my Dutch heritage and family – the Waikato Global Exchange Programme is the perfect way for me to do both! By doing the exchange at the end of my degree, I can also extend my stay in Europe post-study, something that I’m really looking forward to.
