Hi, I’m Hayleigh. I’m currently in my final year of studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Earth Science. I chose to go on exchange to broaden my perspective and experience how Earth Science is taught and practiced in a different part of the world. Geology varies greatly, so I saw this as a unique opportunity to explore that through new courses and field experiences.

I chose Cardiff University in Wales because it offered a range of Earth Science and geology-focused papers that aren’t available at Waikato. It also gave me the chance to live closer to my family in England and spend meaningful time with them during my studies. I’m hoping to grow personally and academically through this experience – gaining independence, building international connections, and getting to travel while pursuing my interests in geology.
