Seoul, here I come!

My name is Iffah Ramlan and I’m a second-year student studying Bachelor of Business majoring in Digital Business at the University of Waikato. For me, deciding to go on an exchange program has always been more than just studying abroad, it’s a chance to step out of what’s familiar and experience life from a completely new perspective. I want to challenge myself in a different environment, adapt to new ways of learning, and grow both academically and personally. Beyond the classroom, I’m also excited about the everyday moments that make an exchange special. For example, meeting people from different backgrounds, exploring a new culture through food, culture and learning how to navigate an unfamiliar environment with independence and confidence.

South Korea, or Yonsei University in particular stood out to me as the perfect destination. Yonsei’s strong academic reputation and wide range of courses align with my Business degree, but what drew me in was the cultural experience. South Korea is known for its balance of traditions and modernity, and I’m eager to immerse myself in that mix while also improving my Korean language skills through real-life practice. I hope this exchange not only gives me academic growth, but also a deeper cultural understanding, lasting friendships, and fresh perspectives that will influence my future career and personal journey.
