I want to go to an exchange because I want to experience something completely new which I think is exactly what an exchange offers. Albeit expensively. My main reason for choosing Maastricht University is its selection of courses available to exchange students. I found that among the universities I researched they had the largest and most varied selection of courses available. I don’t have many elective papers in my degree so having the right papers available was essential. In addition to this I have always wanted to travel to the Netherlands. When people ask “where do you want to go”, my answer has always been the Netherlands. This made Maastricht university the perfect fit for me.

I don’t have a specific answer for what I hope to get out of this exchange. I simply want to experience new things, meet new people and have a different academic challenge without taking a break from my studies. I’m quite nervous about everything leading up to the exchange, especially just waiting for emails from the university. However, as it gets closer and closer the excitement is also growing.
