Coping with Bergen weather

by Fred Donovan

The past month has been an experience in learning how to cope with snow and regular rain. On the daily trek to & from Fantoft and the University of Bergen, if you are not organised it would truly be a wet & cold experience. That being said the University & accommodation is very warm.

Students virtually have daily social events coordinated by the students union which has organised, Super Bowl, Karaoke, silent discos, trivia, hikes & treks, skiing excursions, and movie nights. The people in Bergen are reserved but very friendly, I have not seen any examples of aggression or crime. We recently had a visit to the appellant court which unlike NZ has no real security. I spoke to a judge about this and he said to his memory there has never been a need.
