Hello everyone! My name is Konan. I’m from Japan and I’m a second-year international student at Waikato. I’m studying Bachelor of Arts with a major in Linguistics. I’m going on an exchange to the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UH Hilo) during A Trimester 2025. I decided to go on an exchange because I wanted to immerse myself in a different environment to have more opportunities in my life.
I chose the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UH Hilo) because I know that I will feel comfortable living in a peaceful environment where I can focus on my studies. I am really looking forward to meeting new people and experiencing a different culture. By going on an exchange, I hope to become more international. I’m a linguistics major, so I’d like to take Hawaiian language classes at UH Hilo. I’m also interested in learning more about Hawaiian culture.
