Hi, my name is Becky Campkin and I am a second year Bachelor of Arts student, majoring in History and International Languages and Cultures. I am very excited to be heading off to the University of Stirling in Scotland for my exchange this September!
Ever since I first heard about Global Experiences, I just knew I had to do it. I have wanted to travel and see the world all my life and what better way to experience another country than to live and study there for a few months! I have a strong desire to see the world, experience another country and different cultures and I think getting the opportunity to study at a university in another country as an exchange student is one that I just cannot miss.
For my exchange, I chose to go to Scotland and more specifically Stirling, because of it’s rich history, beautiful architecture and stunning landscapes. I love learning about history and I find Scotland so fascinating and I’m really looking forward to seeing all the old buildings and castles that are everywhere. I also love it’s proximity to so many places, like the rest of Scotland and the UK and Europe, so I hope to be able to to travel and visit many places while on my exchange.
From going on my exchange, I hope to be able to be more independent and learn to do new things all by myself and learn what it’s like to live in a different country. I hope to be able to gain a greater understanding of the world and the many different people and cultures within it. I also hope to make lots of new friends and connections with many different people and hopefully be able to stay in contact with them for many years to come. And of course, I hope to be able to travel and explore lots of new places!
This will be such an amazing experience and I’m really looking forward to making the most of this exciting opportunity!
