Since this was my first time being so far away from my family, I was super anxious about leaving New Zealand and living by myself in a different country for five months. However, as nervous as I was, I was equally excited about this new exciting chapter of life. While feeling homesick when you are away from home is inevitable, finding friends and exploring around can definitely help. My flatmates have been an amazing support system and have made the transition into this adventure easier. I was expecting to feel a lot more jet lagged however, to my surprise, my jet lag wore off super quick and I was back into my normal sleeping routine within a day or two.
